What Is And The Cause of Jaundice Babies

What Is Jaundice?

Jaundice accrues mostly in newborn babies. If you ever wondering why your baby looks yellow? Or has a little tan look to the babies skin, or you can even sometimes see yellow in the eyes.

What Causes Jaundice?

The cause of Jaundice is when babies have to much bilirubin in their blood. Though a normal level of bilirubin can be found in just about any healthy baby, but there are two types of bilirubin which are Physiologic jaundice and pathologic jaundice.

Physiologic Jaundice

Over 50% of all healthy babies can develop physiologic jaundice within the first two or three days of birth. This is very common especially if your breastfeeding your baby.

Pathologic Jaundiced

This type of jaundice is known to be more harmful and have serious conditions. Some of these conditions are red blood diseases, liver diseases, infections, blood group incompatibilities, dehydration, and prematurity.
