Jaundice is best tested through blood work. A good inductor that jaundice is serious is when:
* bilirubin levels greater than 18 milligrams per deciliter of blood in term babies
* When the babies bilirubin increases more than five milligrams per deciliter per day the baby has an elevation in there direct bilirubin
* When bilirubin continues to increase over time and never breaks and starts coming down
Good Sign that Jaundice Is Okay Or Average For Babies
The best way for babies to break down bilirubin is passing it through stools. So sooner the baby can start feeding especially breastfeeding the better and the sooner your baby can start passing bilirubin through stool. As long as your baby continues to produce wet and soiled diaper the bilirubin should normally drop and come down to a normal level within a week or two.

What Is Jaundice?
Jaundice accrues mostly in newborn babies. If you ever wondering why your baby looks yellow? Or has a little tan look to the babies skin, or you can even sometimes see yellow in the eyes.
What Causes Jaundice?
The cause of Jaundice is when babies have to much bilirubin in their blood. Though a normal level of bilirubin can be found in just about any healthy baby, but there are two types of bilirubin which are Physiologic jaundice and pathologic jaundice.
Physiologic Jaundice
Over 50% of all healthy babies can develop physiologic jaundice within the first two or three days of birth. This is very common especially if your breastfeeding your baby.
Pathologic Jaundiced
This type of jaundice is known to be more harmful and have serious conditions. Some of these conditions are red blood diseases, liver diseases, infections, blood group incompatibilities, dehydration, and prematurity.

Several continue to ask about pictures with Tara. So here is a beautiful picture with two of the most beautiful things I have seen in a long time.

Tara is recovering very nicely and continues to move around more and more. She is completely off the IV and all other machines. Though, I believe she is excited to bring her little bundle of joy home soon.

The Joys And Fears Of Parenting By Unofficial Parents
The fear of not hearing your baby’s heartbeat
But the joy of that rhythm makes your heart beat just slightly faster.
The fear of complications
The joy of the ultrasound picture
The fear of the unknown world of baby land
The joy of the growth of a bigger belly
The fear of the stillness
The joy of every little movement, kick, stretch, or flip
The fear of not being ready
The joy of knowing we will be holding our son in our arms soon.
Oh what joy of parenting even though we are not even parents has excited us for months.
Now where there is fear…the joy cannot be found or anywhere in sight.
But when there is Joy oh when there is JOY..fear escapes the mind faster than you can say delivery.
Though the fear is always around the corner with all the unknowns, unseen factors
But Joy is always there to tell us that Jesus is alive and working.
